The summer that has just ended was really unforgettable for Simone Giannelli: within a few months for the young setter of Trentino Volley arrived bachelor's degree, driving license, debut in the National team and the qualification as a protagonist for the Olympics thanks to the second-place reached at the recent World Cup in Japan.
He returned in Bolzano, his home, on Thursday evening, the MVP of the Super League 2015/16 UnipolSai can enjoy these important goals and especially a little bit of rest before resuming in the coming week the training with Italy. This morning he posed for a photo shoot in his hometown which will be published in seven days on Sportweek (weekly of La Gazzetta dello Sport), and whereupon he told Trentino Volley Tv his feelings about everything that has happened so quickly.
"In a few months I have achieved many important goals, first of all high school diploma and driving license, which of course make me proud and satisfied, but for how I am I already like to look forward”- he said -. “I lived a beautiful summer, unforgettable and indescribable also from a sporting perspective; I'm really very pleased with what we managed to do in Japan. We grabbed the Olympic qualification at the first opportunity and we played a tournament of the highest level. The best moment? When we scored the last point during the match against Poland; it was something crazy because in the biggest game of our event all of us were able to play amazingly, proving to deserve the prestigious result. In a few weeks, however, we will play the European Championship and we all know that we have to work a lot to get something important.”
"The new Trentino Volley has changed a lot compared to the past, but also in this case I am convinced that with workouts in the gym, sacrifice and hard work we can do very well” - said Giannelli -. “In the season that begins with the Italian Super Cup in Modena in October 24th, I will certainly have more responsibilities, and i like it: I will do my best because as stated in the Ticket Campaign, I believe in it. I believe in it a lot".
